               Subject: Your online presence

As you have a common name, I was unable to find anything online that I could definitively label as yours other than your Facebook profile.

You are 22 years old. You moved from Ephraim, Utah in the summer of 2009 to Storm Lake, Iowa. You and your family went on a family trip visiting religious historical locations all over the mid-west. Locations included New York state, Ohio, and Illinois. As a young man, you participated in The Boy Scouts of America, including going on a high adventure trip in 2012. While there, you worked multiple jobs including newspaper delivery, landscaping, and detasseling. You were an employee at HY-Vee until graduated high school, and before serving your mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

You served in the Nampa Idaho mission. You seem to put a large emphasis on the importance of that mission in positively affecting everything in your life. You wrote: “I owe everything I now have and everything which I have learned to those two years.” It is clear that you prioritize your church service to this day as an important part of your life. Your profile picture makes this even more clear, as it is a picture of your mission days.

Since finishing your mission, you returned to work for HY-Vee and then began attending Utah State University after you moved to Providence UT in 2016. You are currently studying Journalism & Communication. It appears that you have had a long love of writing and storytelling. You wrote columns for your local newspaper and short stories in your free time as a young man, and hope to continue writing in your career.

I would assume that your love of writing came in part from your love of reading. You enjoy the classics including “The Great Gatsby”, “The Giver” and “Fahrenheit 45”. You also read more modern texts including the “Harry Potter” and “Hunger Games” series. Your enjoyment of film also motivates you to write. Action films from all time periods, Disney and Pixar animations, and sports film are your preference.

Sports is something you also quite enjoy. American football seems to be your particular favorite, with special preference to BYU teams. You also have a love for outdoor activities. Hiking, running, and enjoying the mountains of Utah are all things you wish you had more free time for.

While you have many interests, your religion and family relationships seem to be your top priority. You are one of ten kids, four sisters, and five brothers. You post frequently about church and family related events and photos. You often share motivational quotes, talks, or video’s that mostly stem from your religious affiliation. It is clear that you place a large emphasis on traditional family and Christian values.

Driving takes up a ton of our time. According to the AAA Foundation for traffic security: "Drivers, on average, make two driving trips per day, which take an average of 46 minutes." (1) This means that over the course of a year, drivers spend on average 279 hours, or over 11 whole days a year, driving. If the old adage "time is money" really is true, then driving truly is an expensive thing. Over the next few years, it is likely that for some, that time will become more accessible. The current research and testing on self-driving cars will have repercussions for the way our world operates. Communication is one of those areas. While being in a self-driving car will not eliminate drive distances, it will free up that time for the drivers. They will not be able to anything they might want as they will still be stuck in the car. But, communication can happen anywhere. 11 whole days of freed up time is something that a lot of Americans wish they had. A lot of Americans...

Social Media Case

The president of the United States has a lot of influence. Trump has increased it.  President Donald Trump has set an interesting precedent. It will be impossible for any future president to be able to communicate in only traditional ways. Trump's use of social media has changed the expectations of American citizens. Gone are the days of formal political statements, and press releases. From now on, Americans will demand direct instant responses to a much wider range of topics from our presidents.  Before Trump, Americans expected the president to voice his opinions on political matters. The means by which presidents communicated was mostly through television, radio, and formal announcements. These messages would sometimes take days, weeks, or even months of writing and editing until finally being released. The more controversial the topic, the longer the statement might take. This was done to make sure that the statement would correctly reflect the political views of the...
